Khouma Babacar will remain at Fiorentina despite a lack of game time in Florence |
KHOUMA BABACAR'S agent says there is no chance of the player leaving Fiorentina for the Premier League.
Striker Babacar, 22, has emerged as a transfer target of both Liverpool and Tottenham in recent weeks.
TalkSPORT claimed the Senegal international was available and that the two English clubs would battle it out to sign him in January.
But his agent says Babacar is happy in Florence despite starting just seven times for the Viola this season.
“Babacar signed a new contract in the summer and has since demonstarted his love for the club,” agent Patrick Bastianelli told Radio Sportiva.
“He isn’t fazed by the fact he isn’t playing all the time. This will not change his mind.
"His goal right now is to climb up the squad’s hierarchy and convince coach Paulo Sousa to find space for him on the field.
“Fiorentina want him and he wants to remain.”
Babacar has scored five goals for Fiorentina this campaign to help the club rise to third in the Serie A table.
It was claimed Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp would move for the player following Danny Ings' season-long injury blow.
Christian Benteke has only just returned to full fitness, while Daniel Sturridge is continuing to build up match sharpness after almost a year out with injury.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT claim Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is on the lookout for strikers to accompany Harry Kane up front, despite the boss spending £29million on Son Heung-Min and Clinton N'Jie over the summer.
