HELLO star Adele is on course to smash the record for the fast-selling British album ever.
25, her third album, racked up a staggering 300,000 sales in the 24 hours after being released on Thursday.
The London-born singer now looks set to snatch a piece of chart history from Oasis, according to experts.
Be Here Now – the Britpop legends' 1997 album – currently holds the record for most sales within seven days of release.
It sold 424,000 copies on its launch day – before reaching 695,761 at the end of its first chart week.
Martin Talbot of the Official Charts Company said: "Adele truly is a once in a generation artist.
“Her appeal spans age groups and genres, from children to teenagers, right through to mums and dads, uncles and aunties.
"With this mammoth first day sales tally, Adele has taken a further step towards greatness.
“Over the next few days we will find out whether it can pass the magic half a million sales mark."
Adele's first album, 19, sold 73,000 copies in the first week and her second, 21, sold 208,000.
Hello, the lead single from 25, was the UK's number one for three weeks before being toppled by Justin Bieber's Sorry.
The album's second single, When We Were Young, has racked up 20million YouTube plays in just four days.
