You're about to see A LOT more videos on your Facebook News Feed
Facebook is doubling down on video engagement using a number of new features
IF YOUR Facebook News Feed isn't already plagued by an endless stream of video clips – it will be soon.

Facebook has announced a series of new experimental video features which could be rolling out to your News Feed soon.
Amongst the new options for the hugely popular social network is a new picture-in-picture mode, which allows playing clips to follow you down the News Feed as you scroll.
Facebook Vice President of Product Management Will Cathcart claims the new features are meant to "give people more flexibility when watching videos."
The Californian firm is in the process of testing a dedicated section for videos within its mobile apps and website.

A stream of related videos promises to keep Facebook users watching videos back-to-back
Facebook believes a video tab will help users "discover, watch and share" clips on the social network.
The US technology giant has recently shown a heightened interest in video content – announcing its first 360-degree immersive video experience.
We’re pleased with initial results, which show that people who have suggested videos are discovering and watching more new videos

The social network premiered the virtual reality video technology with an exclusive clip from the upcoming Star Wars Episode VII.
Facebook claims a number of the new features currently being trialled will benefit users who are "sitting down to enjoy multiple videos back-to-back."
Amongst these are suggested videos, which will help users discover multiple related videos in a row after you tap on a video from News Feed.
The YouTube-esque feature is currently being tested on iPhone.

Facebook Vice President Will Cathcart said: "While we’re still in the early days of testing, we’re pleased with initial results, which show that people who have suggested videos are discovering and watching more new videos.
"We’ve now rolled out suggested videos to most people on iPhone globally, and are starting to test ads within the experience.
"We are also starting to test this on the web, and plan to test on Android phones in the coming months."

Picture-in-picture allows your playing video to follow you through the Facebook mobile app
Facebook will introduce a new picture-in-picture video feature that allows playing videos to follow you as you scroll through your News Feed and other parts of the Facebook smartphone app.
But if you are unable to watch the video – perhaps in a public place without headphones – the social network is introducing a bookmark feature.
Similar to saving posts for later, users will soon be able to save videos to revisit at a later date.
These will appear in the  "saved" section of your account.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has previously stated he believes videos is the future of his social network.
The firm has previously revealed Facebook users watch a staggering three billion videos each day through the service.
Thanks to the latest additions to the service, that engagement will only increase.
