Wayne Rooney scored in United's victory
WAYNE ROONEY was delighted Manchester United's hard work on the training ground paid off as they eased to a comfortable victory against Everton.

Goals from the United captain, Morgan Schneiderlin and Ander Herrera gave Louis van Gaal's men a 3-0 victory at Goodison Park, in what was the perfect response to their 3-0 defeat at Arsenal before the international break.
Rooney admitted the team performance had him grinning from ear-to-ear.
"It was a very good performance," he said. "We were disappointed about the Arsenal game, and we know coming here is difficult, but it’s a well-deserved victory and we're delighted.

It was announced this morning that Everton great Howard Kendall had died at the age of 69.
Kendall led the Toffees to two First Division titles, an FA Cup and European Cup Winners' Cup glory during his time in charge of the club.
A round of applause was held before the game and Rooney admitted the news was very sad.
He said: "It was very sad news. I spoke to Duncan [Ferguson] this morning about it.
"It’s a sad day for Everton. I’m sure everyone at the club feels it, and I'd like to pass on my condolences to Howard’s family.
