The Force Awakens is the seventh chapter in the iconic series.
Confusingly, it is the sequel to the first trilogy that started back in 1977 with A New Hope, which was actually chapter four of the epic space opera.
The new film picks up approximately 30 years after the events of 1983's climactic Return of the Jedi.
The tarilers so far have shown teh return of Harrison Ford as Han Solo, with his trusty Chewbacca at his side.
We have also seen incredible images of Carrie Fisher in her new costume as Priness Leia.

The trailers have also thrown up as many questions as they have answered.
Who is the dashingly evil Kylo Ren? The man with the impressive broadsword light saber is NOT a Sith accordingto director JJ Abrams.
We also have some fresh-faced heroes like conflicted Stormtrooper John Boyega and Daisy Boyega's plucky Rey.
The latest rumours hint that she could be the child of Princess Leia and Han Solo.

But she also has a mysterious brother somewhere out there.
Will the upcoming trailer reveal all?
The Force may not be strong in us, but somehow we doubt it...
