Star Wars Episode VII is causing HAVOC for the online Box Office |
TICKETS are finally available for the new Star Wars film – and the demand is causing HAVOC for UK cinemas.
The Force is strong with this one.Tickets for Episode VII of the Star Wars film saga have gone live across the UK – and brought cinema websites to their knees.Cinemas – including the Odeon IMAX in Leicester Square and super-sized BFI screen – are struggling with the demand and have even temporarily taken orders offline.Star Wars fans looking to buy tickets for the film are currently being greeted with the following warning."Oops," it reads "We are sorry but we have had to temporarily stop online booking for this cinema due to technical reasons."CineWorld are also believed to be experiencing issues with online ticket sales.Many Star Wars fans have taken to Twitter to express their annoyance at the online issues.One user tweeted: "Been trying for 2 hours to book Star Wars tickets on @ODEONCinemas. Howay man!""Can't book tickets to Star Wars yet on Cineworld website. Only Angry Birds the Movie. Broken Britain in action right there," another tweeted.

One Star Wars fans criticised Odeon for not anticipating the high demand for the film, "Well done @ODEONCinemas Website has been down since 8am for Star Wars tickets. "It's not like anyone didn't warn you it might be popular …"A spokesperson for Vue told NewsNewsBlog.blogspot.com: "Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens is set to be the family blockbuster of the year. "We sold 10,000 tickets in the first 90 minutes of being on sale this morning – the biggest 1st hour of advance ticket sales seen so far this year when it would normally take a matter of weeks for advance sales to reach this level. "Our customers continue to purchase online with ease and at the speed of light."The news comes hours after the final Star Wars Force Awakens poster was unveiled.The poster is packed with a host of old and new characters.Strangely, Luke Skywalker is absent from image but there's a very Death Star-esque spaceship looming in the background.
