Ronald Koeman says Jurgen Klopp needs time to change Liverpool's fortunes

RONALD KOEMAN has had his say on Liverpool's appointment of Jurgen Klopp ahead of Southampton's trip to Anfield on Sunday (4:15pm).

 

Klopp was named as the new boss at Anfield earlier this month, replacing the sacked Brendan Rodgers on a three-year deal.

And Koeman believes he already saw an improvement in the Reds during the 0-0 draw with Tottenham - the German's first game in charge.

 

But the Saints boss insists the former Borussia Dortmund man still need time at Liverpool.

"There has been a lot of attention in the press but it isn't easy because as a new manager you need time," the Dutchman said of Klopp.

"I was surprised at the performance against Tottenham last week. It looked like a different Liverpool.

"It was good high pressing. Yesterday was very different but as a new manager, you need time to put everything together as you would like."
