FORMER Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon has confirmed the club has spoken to Chelsea star Eden Hazard
And on Tuesday things did not get any better for the 24-year-old as his penalty in the shoot-out against Stoke City was saved by Jack Butland and meant the defending champions exited the competition.
Hazard has been heavily linked with a move to Madrid and Calderon has suggested there has already been some form of talks between the two parties.
"We will wait and see."
Despite the speculation, manager Jose Mourinho lent his support to his star man.
He said: "He tried everything in the last game, he had a positive game, he played for two hours – I am happy with his performance against Stoke.
"I was happy with his performance against Dynamo Kiev.
"Before that he was on the bench obviously because I was not happy and I felt it was the best thing for him.
"I am happy with his positive reaction to that."
