Wayne Rooney is targeted by a laser pen just before his penalty miss

WAYNE ROONEY had a night to forget as Manchester United crashed out of the Capital One Cup.

The Manchester United captain came off the bench at Old Trafford last night but could not help Louis van Gaal's side over Championship outfit Middlesbrough.

And Rooney's wobbling confidence took another hit as he missed United's first penalty of the shootout they eventually lost 3-1.

But it seems the England star could have been put off by a laser pen shone in his direction before his took his penalty.

Rooney is not the first to be hit by the laser pen curse though…
