Mauricio Pochettino offers advice to new Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Mauricio Pochettino says Jurgen Klopp will be just fine in the Premier League

MAURICIO POCHETTINO believes Jurgen Klopp will have no trouble adapting to life in the Premier League with Liverpool - but has still given him a few pointers.

 

The German was unveiled as Liverpool’s new manager last week, signing a three-year deal worth £7million a year.

It’s his first game in charge this weekend, as the Reds travel to White Hart Lane to take on Tottenham (12.45pm).

And fellow foreign boss Pochettino believes he will adapt just fine to life in England’s top flight due to his pedigree as a coach.

 

He said: “Always for us [foreign managers] it is the same. Convince the player that they believe in your philosophy and your ideas, that is the first thing and most important.

“And then you need to know where you’re going in the future - a different mentality and style of football [for the Premier League].

“But when you are a manager like Klopp you have the capacity to manage and can manage in the Champions League final.

“I think that you have the skill to realise this and adapt your ideas to the new future and new football.”
