LIVERPOOL defender Joe Gomez hobbled off injured during England Under 21s win over Kazakhstan tonight.
It is understood he suffered a knock to his knee but it is not thought to be as serious as first feared.
Early signs suggested he had tweaked the ligament in his right knee and the full extent will be known after he is assessed by Liverpool's medical staff at their Melwood training ground on Wednesday.
The 18-year-old is now a doubt for Jurgen Klopp's first game in charge, with the Reds set to travel to Tottenham on Saturday.
Gomez started the Euro 2017 qualifier alongside Liverpool team-mate Jordon Ibe and the pair helped Gareth Southgate's side to a comfortable 3-0 victory in Group 9.

Goals from Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Nathan Redmond and Chuba Akpom helped secure the young England stars' second win of the qualifying campaign.
England dominated the game before their evening was slightly soured when Gomez pulled up after what appeared to be an innocuous challenge down by the corner flag and needed to be assisted off the pitch.
