Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson broke news of Brendan Rodgers' sacking
Jordan Henderson had to inform the Liverpool squad of Brendan Rodgers' sacking
LIVERPOOL captain Jordan Henderson broke the news of Brendan Rodgers' sacking to his Liverpool team-mates, according to reports.

Rodgers was dismissed on Sunday after the 1-1 Merseyside draw with Everton at Goodison Park, with Jurgen Klopp expected to arrive at Anfield tomorrow to complete his deal to become Liverpool's new manager.
The decision to part ways with Rodgers was made before the derby clash, although he was only informed via a phone call from FSG president Mike Gordon.

And the Mail Online report that Henderson was then tasked with breaking the news to the Liverpool squad.
A source said: 'It was always thought that the owners would wait until Christmas and if they were not in the top six then they would have a decision to make.

"The speculation would not go away but the timing - after a win and a draw - was interesting.
"Jordan was asked to deliver the news.
"There is sadness at the way it worked out with Brendan but an acceptance that it's football and these things happen. There is a belief that the new man can come in and provide an immediate impact."
