Jose Mourinho says Chelsea's poor start is a learning experience |
Chelsea go up against Southampton tomorrow at Stamford Bridge (5:30pm) having picked up just eight points from a possible 21 this term.
The Premier League champions will also still be digesting the 2-1 Champions League defeat to Porto in midweek.
And Mourinho is now looking to end his side’s disappointing start to the campaign with a win over the Saints, a side Chelsea failed to beat last season.
The Blues manager did admit, though, that he is learning from the experience.
Jose Mourinho looking to end poor form tomorrow against Ronald Koeman's Southampton |
He said: “I define it as the worst period in my career with the worst results in my career, which I see as a fantastic experience.
“Not one I want to repeat. I want it to finish tomorrow, but it's a good experience in my career.
“It comes too late. To come after 15 years is too late. It should come after three or four. But it's something that's helping me to be better.
“It's a great negative experience. I've had big challenges all the time. But it's the worst period: I've never lost so many matches, that's a fact.”
