ARSENAL were humbled by Sheffield Wednesday last night as they were knocked out of the Capital One Cup.

The ninth-best team in the Championship beat the side currently second in the Premier League thanks to goals from Ross Wallace, Lucas Joao and Sam Hutchinson.
For Arsene Wenger it proved to be a doubly miserable night at Hillsborough as both Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott came off injured in the opening 20 minutes.
Wenger, who has never won the League Cup, said: “We weren’t at the level required. They were sharper and quicker.”
Wenger’s decision to blood several youngsters, such as Alex Iwobi, Glen Kamara, Joel Campbell and Krystian Bielik, backfired. “They are not ready to play at this level. None of them,” he said.
