Gareth Bale is a key cog in the Welsh machine, motoring towards Euro 2016 |
GARETH BALE declared himself ready for Wales' date with destiny and has vowed Chris Coleman's men will handle expectations as they chase the point needed to secure Euro 2016 qualification.
The 26-year-old left a nation holding its breath when he suffered a calf injury on club duty with Real Madrid last month but returned to action as he played 24 minutes in the draw with city rivals Atletico on Sunday.
The world's most expensive player then immediately dashed to Cardiff to link up with the Dragons' squad ahead of their final Group B qualifiers against Bosnia and Andorra.
A point would guarantee qualification for a first major finals since 1958 and Bale is sure he and the rest of his team-mates will get the job done, whether it be in Zenica on Saturday or against Andorra in Cardiff the following Tuesday.
"The calf is OK. I had a nice 20 minutes to open it up and get the legs ready for the next two games," said Bale. "I've prepared well over the last couple of weeks and I am ready to go.
"At the moment the excitement is not so much but come Saturday it will be up to 10 out of 10 and we know the expectation because no side has qualified in a long time.
"But we've been playing with each other now for six to eight years and we know what is at stake. We are keeping calm and we know what we have to do."
Aaron Ramsey will also start in Chris Coleman's side |
