Gabriel believes Arsenal have the strength in depth to challenge in every competition this season
ARSENAL defender Gabriel revealed he wants to make history at Arsenal by winning some of the biggest prizes in European football, and believes they have the squad to do it.
The Brazilian has established himself as an important part of Arsene Wenger's squad since he arrived at the club in January, and is thirsty for more silverware after tasting success in last season's FA Cup.
However, the Gunners are yet to set the Premier League alight this season, but they did thump Manchester United 3-0 in thier last league outing.
Speaking to the official Arsenal website he said: “On the first day I arrived here I felt something special. In reality, I think I always wanted to achieve the most important goals in the world and in the biggest competitions.“When I got here, I saw that Arsenal have the ability to do it. We have great players to win the biggest competitions. I’m sure that me, my team-mates and everyone that works here will make history.“I will have my name remembered here for my son and your sons to see that we won the Champions League, the Premier League, the best competitions, because Arsenal are capable of doing it.”Gabriel also believes the hardship he faced growing up in Brazil will help him achieve his ambition of becoming one of the best centre-backs in the world.“You go back a bit, you see what happened, you see what the family went through and that gives you the strength to go back to playing to your high standards in a club where you must be at your best, where you must always be willing to show your potential every day,” he added.“So I think these things I went through back then give me great strength to be able to be a great player. I want to become one of the best defenders in the world.”
