ASTON VILLA are in advanced talks to make Remi Garde their new manager after the sacked Tim Sherwood on Sunday, according to Stan Collymore.
Sherwood was given his marching orders by Villa owner Randy Lerner after a difficult start to the season.
Villa have won just once in the Premier League this season, and lost 2-1 at home to Swansea on Saturday.
And ex-Villa star Collymore has revealed the club are already locked in negotiations with former Lyon manager Garde.

He tweeted: "Remi Garde in 'advanced' talks with Aston Villa Football Club."
Garde, a former Gunners defender, is on a sabbatical from management following his exit from Lyon in 2014 and most recently turned down the opportunity to manage at Newcastle.
Real Sociedad manager David Moyes is also under consideration for the role as are former Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers and former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson.
