Crystal Palace 2 - West Brom 0: Yohan Cabaye aiming high for Eagles
Yohan Cabaye celebrates after scoring Crystal Palace's second goal
YOHAN CABAYE prised open the Premier League’s meanest defence and tantalisingly kept Palace dreaming of Europe.

For a few hours yesterday they were hovering in joint second place on points and again showed how manager Alan Pardew is working more miracles in SE25.
After saving them from relegation, he is now aiming for the moon – and confirming why many believe he is heir-apparent to replace England manager Roy Hodgson.
He is volatile, an in-your-face guy, whose touchline energy is carried on to to the pitch by his team.

That was demonstrated as Palace, without hitting top gear, were far too much for a West Brom side that arrived purely to defend and paid the price.
Palace finally got the breakthrough their play deserved in the 67th minute.
That’s when Yannick Bolasie celebrated his new deal at the club by cracking the meanest defence in the Premier League when he headed home Cabaye’s cross.

Then, after Wilfried Zaha was felled in the box by Chris Brunt, Cabaye scored from the penalty spot.
Pardew said: “Today our strength was in the middle and it showed why we bought in Cabaye. On this form he should be playing for France.
“Last time we had 15 points was when we were having our Christmas dinner last year – now we have it in October.”

West Brom were poor all round, with even star striker Saido Berahino substituted at half-time.
Boss Tony Pulis said: “Saido was one of a number of players who never turned up for us today.”
“There were a number of players who didn’t play as they could have and that is very disappointing.”
