Conmebol: Platini should be able to run for FIFA presidency despite serving 90-day ban
Michel Platini should be allowed to run for FIFA presidency - South American confederation
FIFA’s civil war took a new twist last night when the South American confederation said Michel Platini should be allowed to run for the organisation’s presidency despite his provisional 90-day suspension.

Conmebol said Platini should be regarded as innocent until proved guilty.
Meanwhile, the French football federation is planning to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport to argue that Platini, their nominated candidate, should be allowed to continue to run for the presidency.
Yesterday the UEFA boss formally appealed his ban, imposed over a £1.35million payment made in 2011 for work that ended nine years earlier.
