Arsenal could go back in for Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain |
ARSENAL have made Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain their top transfer target after it became clear they will miss out on Edinson Cavani, according to reports in Italy.
Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is known to be a keen admirer of the Argentina striker and almost signed him before he moved to Serie A from Real Madrid in 2013.
And Italian publication TutoMercatoWeb claim they will reignite their interest next summer or in the January transfer window.
Cavani is another forward who was linked to the Emirates in the summer but his future appears to lie elsewhere.
The Paris Saint-Germain hit man's future has come under the microscope, with Manchester United also thought to retain an interest.
However, new reports claim he has set his sights on a move to Chelsea and could make a £36.2million switch to Stamford Bridge next season.
Wenger could now turn to Higuain once more, although his hefty price-tag could prove problematic.
