West Brom are preparing a £3.5million bid to sign Demarai Gray |
WEST BROM have entered the race to sign £3.5million-rated Birmingham star Demarai Gray in January, according to reports.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis watched the teenager play last week against Aston Villa in the Capital One Cup and is ready to offer him a crack at the Premier League.
The 19-year-old has attracted interest from a host of top clubs, including Arsenal, Liverpool and German champions Bayern Munich.
Gray has been a long-term target for West Brom with Pulis identifying speedy attackers as a priority in the January window.
The England under-20 international has already turned down a summer offer from Leicester, despite Claudio Ranieri agreeing to trigger the youngster's £4.75m buy-out clause.

However, under the terms of Gray's new contract he signed in the summer, the transfer fee he commands will drop in the New Year.
Pulis was left frustrated in the summer window in his pursuit of an attacking winger, missing out on the likes of Queens Park Rangers' Matt Phillips and Michail Antonio - who went onto join West Ham.
Liverpool are in pole position to sign Gray though, after the loan deal which took Jordon Ibe to St Andrews 18 months ago gives them an option to match any bids for him before personal terms are discussed.
