Nick Powell has made just two Premier League appearances since signing for Manchester United in 2012 |
DAVID DE GEA wasn't the only man to make headlines as Manchester United announced their squad for the Champions League.
Nick Powell, the forgotten man of Old Trafford, was the surprise name to be listed among 25 others who will dine at Europe's top table.
Powell signed for United from Crewe back in 2012 but has made just two Premier League appearances since making the switch.
The last two seasons have been spent on loan at Wigan and Leicester, leaving many to ponder exactly why he has been given a recall now.
Fans took to Twitter in their droves to question the decision, some of whom were surprised to learn that he was still alive.

However, there were others who are delighted to see him get another chance, while there were concerns at the squad being too thin as manager Louis van Gaal named just seven official defenders.
Among the midfielders, however, are Daley Blind and Antonio Valencia, who have been used almost exclusively as defenders this season.
The inclusion of Andreas Periera and Guillermo Varela also appeared to come as a bit of a shock.
Here's how Twitter reacted to the news.
