Sunderland 0 - Tottenham 1: Mason bags late winner to overcome resilient Black Cats
Ryan Mason putting the ball past Costel Pantilimon to secure the three points for Tottenham
AN 83rd-minute dinked finish by Ryan Mason guided Tottenham to three points against a resilient Sunderland side at the Stadium of Light.

It was a lively start from both sides with Jermain Defoe threatening his former team after some good play alongside new strike partner Fabio Borini.
Harry Kane - making his 50th appearance - then struck a long-range effort towards goal but failed to test Costel Pantilimon as it flew wide of the mark.

The Black Cats had the best chance of the first half when Jermain Lens brilliantly played in Defoe who was one-on-one with Hugo Lloris, but his low driven effort struck a the left post.
There was a glimpse of new Spurs signing Son Heung-Min as the half came to a close, with the £18m signing hitting an ambitious curling effort from the edge of the box only for it to drift wide of the mark.
it was chances galore in the second half but neither side were able to make them count until the 82 minute when Ryan Mason broke the deadlock with a tidy chipped finish over Pantilimon which was made possible by some excellent build-up play by Kane and Erik Lamela.
Mason was then forced off the pitch on a stretcher after scoring the match winner.
The Black Cats were not going to go down without a fight though as Jack Rodwell hit the crossbar after being set up by Younes Kaboul, but it wasnt to be as Dick Advocaat's men slumped to another defeat
