JOHN TERRY's position is under threat after a difficult start to the season.

 

He was substituted at half time against Manchester City in the 3-0 defeat and was then sent off against West Brom in Chelsea's only win of the season.

He came back in for the Everton game, where Chelsea lost 3-1, and is set to miss out tonight against Maccabi Tel Aviv.

And is this the moment Jose Mourinho told him?

The Blues are expected to make big changes tonight with Terry, Branislav Ivanovic, Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic all to be axed.

Chelsea face Maccabi Tel Aviv, of Israel, as they try to get their season back on track.

Yesterday Mourinho remained positive.

He said: "Three months ago we were the best team in the country, the best manager, the best players. We're not happy but we know what we are - and what we are is what the fans sing every game: champions of England.

"Even though we have started so badly - and it really is badly - somebody cannot take that away. Nobody can steal our trophies, our history.

"You can try, but you can't do that. We know what we are. Champions of England."
