Sign from god and Spurs wages in full: Why Adebayor snubbed West Ham and Aston Villa
Emmanuel Adebayor has dug his heels in and decided to stay at Tottenham
EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR rejected the chance to leave Tottenham before the close of the transfer window because he wanted his wages paid in full.

And reports that have recently emerged suggest the Togo international had another motive for staying in north London.
claim Adebayor had also consulted his pastor at the end of July when a move to Aston Villa looked to be on the cards.

The 31-year-old completed a medical and posed in a Villa shirt but said he wanted a sign from god before making the switch to Villa Park official.
After that fell through, he then came close to joining West Ham this week after Spurs agreed to cancel the final year of his £100,000-a-week contract.

But Adebayor rejected the offer, insisting he would only leave if Spurs aggred to pay his contract in full.
The report even claims the north London club were willing to cover his wages for the time it would take him to find a new club.
Adebayor is said to have signed the papers after that was put on the table but had a last-minute change of heart and opted to stay at White Hart Lane.
As a result of the terms he has now signed, even if his contract is terminated, he will be ineligible to play for anyone else until January.
