MANCHESTER UNITED learned their lesson from defeat to PSV in midweek when they saw off Southampton 3-2 this afternoon, claims Morgan Schneiderlin.

United surrendered an early lead to go down 2-1 in Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

But they kept their cool when going behind at Southampton today - Anthony Martial bagging two goals and Juan Mata adding another in a narrow victory.
And Schneiderlin, who started against his former club, revealed manager Louis van Gaal warned his men to up their game following defeat in Europe.

"We know in the Premier League it is never finished and have to be careful until the end," the Frenchman told Sky Sports.
"We were in control and it happened against Swansea and PSV. We need to learn quickly again.
"The manager reminded us this week that if we are leading and in control, then we have to keep our shape.
"It was strange to go into the away dressing room at the start but I had to stay focused."
