Real Madrid president confirms Man Utd wanted Bale, Arsenal target Benzema and Varane
Florentino Perez says Man United wanted Benzema, Bale and Varane this summer
REAL MADRID president Florentino Perez has confirmed Manchester United's interest in three of the club's star players.

United had been linked with a move for Gareth Bale, however, according to Perez Arsenal target Karim Benzema and Raphael Varane were also on their list.
According to the Real chief the Red Devils did not submit a formal offer for the Welshman, despite reports.

However, he did confirm that Louis van Gaal's side had 'expressed interest' in the world-class trio.
He told Spanish radio station Cadena Ser: "No. It is not true [Bale bid]. We just know that Manchester United expressed their interest in Bale, Benzema and Varane."

Although, Perez admits he was never worried that his top talents would leave the Bernabeu for the lure of the Premier League.
He added: "Benzema and Bale know they are in the best club in the world. Where will they be better anywhere else other than here?"
