The PlayStation Network is down, Sony has confirmed |
THE PSN looks to be suffering a new outage as gamers on the PS4 and PS3 report issues of signing in to the online service.
Issues first started being spotted by fans at around 9pm, UK time, with users unable to access the PlayStation Store or use multiplayer functions on games such as Destiny.
The official PlayStation Network status page run by Sony confirms there are issues with many of the PSN's core features.
This includes:
- Account Management on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4
- Sign In
- Create Account
- Gaming and Social
- PlayStation Store
- PlayStation Download functions
The support team posted this message online, telling fans: "You may have some difficulty signing in or creating an account on PlayStation Network.
"You may also have some difficulty launching games, applications, or online features.
"Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience."
Users are being affected in both the UK and United States, some reporting their frustration online.
One user wrote: "was playing online hour and half ago fine. stopped to watch DVD, come back and says I'm not online but shows i was so signed out and now can't sign back in."

While another added: "Same here, London servers are down and I can't sign in to FIFA 15 Ultimate Team, again.
It should be noted, however, that many other PS4 and PS3 fans in North America are managing to get online, meaning this could be a shortlived outage.
The PlayStation support team on Twitter just posted: "We're aware that PSN is experiencing connectivity issues, thanks for your patience as we investigate."
