HECTOR BELLERIN 'doesn't care' Mathieu Debuchy is a France international, according to Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta.
The 20-year-old stole a march on the Gunners' right-back position last term following an injury to Debuchy that kept him sidelined for much of the season.
Wenger has since kept faith with the youngster, starting him over the Frenchman in six of Arsenal's Premier League games.
And Arteta believes the secret to his success is that he plays without fear and isn't concerned by Debuchy's status as an international full-back.
"He doesn't care – Mathieu is a French international but he wants to compete as well and he wants to earn his place. He's very brave in the way he plays," said Arteta.
"He had that perfect development. He was in the first team but he had some difficult games to start with, like when we played Dortmund and Stoke away last year.
"He realised it wasn't that easy and then he was left out for a while. He started to build his game, his confidence and naturally he's become a first choice.
"Everybody knows that he's got the technical ability. Physically he's very quick and mentally he deals with situations and sometimes that's the most important thing.
I can't see any better right-backs in the next two years in Spain
And Arteta believes that if he plays his cards right he could find himself as first-choice in Vicente Del Bosque's Spain squad too.
