Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal reveals he has signed the new Roy Keane
Louis van Gaal thinks he has signed a natural leader in Bastian Schweinsteiger
MANCHESTER UNITED manager Louis van Gaal thinks he has signed a new leader in Bastian Schweinsteiger.

United have lacked a natural influence in the middle of the park ever since Roy Keane left under a cloud for Celtic in 2005.

They have been trying to fill that void for a decade but Van Gaal thinks they might finally have found the man to fill Keane's illustrious shoes after tempting the German from Bayern Munich in the summer.

“He was my former captain with Philipp Lahm (at Bayern Munich) so I think he is off the pitch very influential and you can see it already now,” Van Gaal said.
“He has already accepted as a leading player and that is why also we have bought him from Bayern Munich and I believe in mixtures between youth and older players and he is an example for the young players so I am very happy with him.”

Schweinsteiger has settled into the Manchester United midfield nicely since leaving Bayern Munich
Keane was exactly that before he publicly criticised the club's younger players in a candid interview with the club.
The fiery Irishman fell out with then-boss Sir Alex Ferguson and was subsequently shipped out before eventually landing in Scotland.
Schweinsteiger is now the club's most experienced player in European competition and is set to martial the midfield when Wolfsburg are the visitors to Old Trafford tomorrow night.
