Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal told to forget about signing the world's top players
Louis van Gaal has been told to forget about signing the top players
HARRY REDKNAPP has told Manchester United to stop wasting their time chasing the best players in the world.

United made moves for Thomas Muller, Gareth Bale and were reportedly interested in a deal for Neymar this summer.
But the Old Trafford club ended up making unproven 19-year-old Anthony Martial the most expensive teenager in history in a deal that could rise as high as £58million with add-ons.
United’s business came in for criticism after their failure to land a marquee signing and for the way they dealt with Real Madrid for deals for Sergio Ramos and David De Gea.

And Redknapp thinks United’s drop off in the years since Sir Alex Ferguson’s departure means they can no longer compete for the world’s elite stars.
“I don’t think they were ever going to get them, “ Redknapp told News News Blog Sport at the Football for Peace event.
“Would you swap Real Madrid and go to Man United? I Wouldn’t.
“Man United is one of the greatest clubs in the world, but Real Madrid, you’re talking about a team that could win the Champions League this year, and United aren’t going to do that. Real Madrid could win it.
“How much higher do you go in your football life than playing for Real Madrid?

“Gareth Bale isn’t coming at the moment. I think he could come back to the Premier League one day, but I think at the moment it’s very hard to leave Real Madrid.
“It’s not like you’re leaving a poor second rate club. It’s possibly the best club in the world even bigger than Barcelona really, so where do you go?
“The top clubs at the moment are Barca, Real and Bayern Munich then you’ve got United, City and Chelsea.”
The former Tottenham boss also insists Louis van Gaal will have no luck in snapping up Harry Kane either.
The Spurs star was linked with a £40m summer move to Old Trafford after a stunning breakthrough year.

Harry Kane will stay loyal to Tottenham says Redknapp
Kane hit 32 goals for club and country last season despite sitting on the bench in the Premier League until November.
But Redknapp believes the England striker will stay loyal to his boy-hood club.
“I don’t think he’ll want to leave,” he said. “He’s captained them a few times when Lloris has been out last year.
“I think he’s better off at Tottenham. I’d like to see him stay there and take them back into the top four. It’s a good club for him to develop at.”
