| Neymar is reportedly ready to sign a new deal with Barcelona |
NEYMAR is set to open contract talks with Barcelona despite telling friends he wanted to leave the club in the summer, according to reports.
The Brazilian is reported by The Daily Mirror to have told those close to him he was considering a move to Manchester United after becoming unhappy with his contract.
United are known to have tracked Neymar throughout the summer, however, he now appears ready to commit his future to the Nou Camp.
United were reported to be preparing a bumper offer totalling £240million in the summer.
However, their pursuit ended up going nowhere and the club opted to sign French teenager Anthony Martial instead.
They have just three recognised strikers at Old Trafford and are thought to still be in the hunt for new recruits after selling Javier Hernandez and Robin van Persie.
But any future moves for Neymar might now be blocked if he signs a new deal.
Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has previously ruled out a deal anyway claiming he will retire at the Catalan giants.
