NEWS NEWS BLOG SPORT brings you all the latest news from Old Trafford
Manchester United will open talks with David de Gea over a new bumper contract to keep him at Old Trafford.
The club met with his agent Jorge Mendes yesterday in an attempt to mend relations following the collapse of the 24-year-old's move to Real Madrid.
It is understood De Gea has ordered Mendes to negotiate a deal that would make him the Premier League's highest paid goalkeeper.
The news comes after Real Madrid president ruled out another move in January, describing his relationship with Mendes as broken.
Elsewhere, Neymar is reported to be in talks with Barcelona over a new contract as well.
The Brazilian was a summer target for United and reports in The Daily Mirror claim he told friends he wanted to leave the Nou Camp for the Red Devils.
However, he appears to have had a change of heart after being offered terms in excess of £200,000 a week.
Neymar, 23, would become the club's second highest earner behind Lionel Messi.

Manager Louis van Gaal could now be more interested in strengthening his defence.
It is understood he has made Real defender Raphael Varane his top transfer target for next summer and could even be working on a deal already.
Chelsea are also thought to be long-term admirers of the 22-year-old.
