MONACO fans are said to be 'absolutely astounded' by Anthony Martial's move to Manchester United.
The 19-year-old became the world's most expensive teenager when he completed a £36million move to Old Trafford on deadline day.
And with add-ons and bonuses the deal could be boosted to a whopping £58m - making him United's most expensive ever transfer.
And, according to former Monaco player John Collins, the French club's fans are 'absolutely astounded' by the move.
He told talkSPORT: "I’m over in Monaco now for a couple of days off and obviously I’ve got lots of friends who are into football and have been watching Monaco for a number of years.
“They’re very intelligent and they know football inside out and everybody here is absolutely astounded at the price Manchester United have paid and I mean absolutely astounded.
“He’s made 53 appearances, 27 as a substitute, and he’s only completed four games. Manchester United have taken a huge gamble on potential, because he’s not actually produced week in, week out.”
"Of course he is a young player and these things come into your game as you get more experience. How he adapts to the massive price tag on his shoulders time will tell."
