STEVEN NAISMITH scored a perfect hat-trick after coming off the bench to heap further pressure on Jose Mourinho's Chelsea at Goodison Park.
The Scotsman came off the bench for the injured Mohamed Besic to head home for his first from a Brendan Galloway cross after 17 minutes, hammer his second into the bottom right corner and drill his third into the bottom left corner to complete a perfect hat-trick either side of Nemanja Matic's 25-yard screamer.
The game began with both sides enjoying early touches of the ball with John Stones proving why he would've been a big hit at Chelsea by outmuscling Diego Costa which sent the Gwladys Stand end into raptures.
After five minutes the game was brought to a halt after Mohamed Besic went down clutching his hamstring, which he failed to shake off as he made way for Steven Naismith.
Besic's injury momentarily disrupted Everton's flow with Pedro's pace and trickery causing the Toffees a host of problems as they looked to exploit the vulnerability of Brendan Galloway.
However, Roberto Martinez's men quelled the danger and launched an attack of their own on 17 minutes which resulted in the first goal with substitute Naismith powerfully heading into the net and past Asmir Begovic after a precise cross from Galloway.
This goal spurred Everton on and saw them launch a flurry of attacks with Arouna Kone and James McCarthy testing the reflexes of Begovic who was deputising for the injured Thibaut Courtois.
Everton's relentless attacking then lead to their second goal on 22 minutes with Naismith smashing home his second from 25-yards.
