Diego Costa may have just been the tonic Chelsea needed claims Liverpool legend

DIEGO COSTA may have given Chelsea the spark to ignite their season.

That is according to former Kop favourite Jamie Redknapp.
Costa ruffled a few feathers and was lucky not to get sent off as the Blues registered a 2-0 win over Arsenal on Saturday.
And though Redknapp didn't condone Costa's actions, he thinks the Blues' ability to 'win ugly' will stand them in good stead.

"You can’t condone what Diego Costa did against Arsenal — he was very lucky not to get himself sent off," Redknapp wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.
"But in a funny way, it was exactly what Chelsea needed.
"They have been so passive this season. The hallmark of Jose Mourinho’s teams is their ability to be nasty and win ugly.

"This year Chelsea have been far too easy to get at.
"They needed to show some passion and there’s nothing like a derby game to ignite that spark.
"The win is by no means the end to their problems but it could be a turning point."
