DANIEL STURRIDGE has stepped up his recovery from injury by training with Liverpool's first team.
The striker took part in today's session at Melwood with the remainder of Brendan Rodgers' first team squad.
He is unlikely to feature against Manchester United this weekend, but Sturridge will hope his involvement represents a breakthrough after the problems that decimated last season's campaign.
Sturridge spent the summer in America recuperating from hip surgery and returned to Merseyside at the end of last month.
Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana did not take part in training, but will be assessed tomorrow.
