Kurt Zouma scored his first Premier League goal in the home win over Arsenal |
CHELSEA defender Kurt Zouma admits he knows he still has a lot to learn despite starting the last five games.
Zouma, 20, was preferred to Blues captain John Terry in the 2-0 win over Arsenal yesterday in order to combat the pace of Theo Walcott.
The France international scored his first Premier League goal but knows he can learn plenty from the 34-year-old Terry, as well as fellow centre-half Gary Cahill, 29.
"I'm very happy because I had a chance to play some games and to show what I can do," the 20-year-old said.
"I have to keep going. I have to learn a lot with the captain and Gary (Cahill). I'm very happy to play with them and learn a lot."
Zouma believes Chelsea full deserved to take all three points from Arsenal at Stamford Bridge, insisting his side 'wanted it more'.
On the victory, he added: “They had a plan to play against us.
“They wanted to stay behind [the ball] and play on the counter attack.
“They know that we have conceded a lot of goals since the beginning of the season and they wanted to play like the other teams.
“Today we were very strong and wanted to win this game more than them I think, so that’s why we won.”
