Callum Wilson set for six-month spell on the sidelines |
Wilson, who picked up the injury early on in last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Stoke, joins long-term absentees Max Gradel and Tyrone Mings this term.
A club statement read: "Callum Wilson is set to spend at least six months sidelined after scans confirmed a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee."
Cherries boss Eddie Howe has urged his other strikers - Tokelo Rantie, Glenn Murray, Yann Kermorgant and Joshua King - to 'step up to the plate' in the absence of the 22-year-old.
"It’s very disappointing for Callum, after what has been an exceptional start to the season, but I am sure he will come back fitter and stronger."
