BOURNEMOUTH inflicted a major blow on Sunderland’s early survival hopes with a comprehensive victory over their relegation rivals.

Callum Wilson beat his man to fire beyond, Costel Pantilimon just four minutes into the clash.
And Matt Ritchie doubled their lead before 10 minutes were up with a stunning volley from the edge of the area.

Sunderland, who remain winless in the league and bottom with just two points after six games, rarely threatened - although Jeremain Lens was wrongly adjudged offside when he converted early after the break.
Younes Kaboul and Fabio Borini both saw attempts blocked, while Jermain Defoe right-footed effort was well saved by Artur Boruc.

And Kaboul's day was ended early when he was given a second booking for upending Wilson.
The win lifts Eddie Howe’s men into 11th place in the Premier League, with Sunderland scrapping at the foot of the table alongside Newcastle.
