Derby confirm interest in Manchester United striker James Wilson
PAUL CLEMENT has confirmed Derby's interest in Manchester United striker James Wilson.
 
The England Under-21 international is understood to be available for loan after the from Monaco.
The 19-year-old has reportedly attracted interest from more than 20 clubs, with Premier League rivals believed to have made an enquiry.
But Clement is hopeful he can win the race for the  academy product and tempt him with a loan move to the Championship.
 
He said on Derby's pursuit of Wilson: "It is a possibility but not a certainty. We have shown an interest.
"He is a very talented player and a number of other clubs have shown an interest as well. We are waiting to hear back from Manchester United."
England Under-21s boss Gareth Southgate recently spoke of the speculation surrounding Wilson, insisting United's Louis van Gaal will make the right decision.
"That is for him and his boss to decide," was the response when asked whether Wilson should go out on loan.
"I believe United will handle his development in the best way. 
"They are one of the best clubs in the world. Look at their history for developing young players.
