Wolfsburg have lost just once – to Bayern Munich – so far this season and lie in fourth spot in the Bundesliga having begun their European campaign with a 1-0 home win over CSKA Moscow a fortnight ago.

And even though the Old Trafford clash is only United's second fixture game in the group stage Young believes it is essential they register a victory.
"If you want to win the Champions league then you have to win your home games," he said.

"It was a disappointing start to the European campaign, especially the possession and chances we had in Eindhoven.
"We have start winning in the group now. It is important to get a win against Wolfsburg."
United manager Louis van Gaal guided the club back into European football's elite competition following a one-season hiatus.
Despite their 12-month absence from the Champions League Young insists the club's players are battle-hardened for the challenge of facing the continent's best sides.
"You don't forget how to play European football," he added.

"We were disappointed not to be in it. We have been in it for so many years and we have so many who have played Champions League football over those years.
"They have been involved at the very top of it. They have the experience.
"There is pressure on all the players in the squad to perform, not just the experienced ones. It is how you deal with it."
Young believes his performances in high profile games for United in Europe can help him catch the eye of England coach Roy Hodgson.

The last of the 30-year-old's caps for the Three Lions came against Ukraine two years but claims he has been kept "in the dark" about his international hopes.
Young added: "I know I have to play well for United to have a chance and then you hope the England manager comes knocking on the door.
"I am not to sure about England situation. I am as in the dark as you. If that happens it happens but at the moment I am concentrating on United.
"I am always going to make myself available for England as long as my legs can carry me around the pitch. I will never think about retiring from England until I retire from football completely."
