Yaya Toure doesn't think the Invincibles record will be emulated |
YAYA TOURE believes no club will ever emulate the Premier League's Invincibles Arsenal.
The Gunners went the entire 2003/04 domestic campaign unbeaten.
City, who have started the season in ominous form, saw their hopes of matching the north London' enviable record evaporate after a 2-1 defeat at home to West Ham on Saturday.
And Toure has lifted the lid on how competitive the Premier League has become in recent years.
"The Premier League is always improving and you see how the big clubs invest in players for a lot of money and this sequence in football – the Invincibles – it will never happen again in the Premier League,” Toure said.
“All the teams are spending money, buying big players. Like West Ham, even Leicester, Stoke spending on players from Barcelona.
"You can understand how the Premier League is so competitive because all the players want to come to England and want to improve, and want to play well.
"You are not surprised to see Chelsea losing at home to Crystal Palace. It’s difficult, the Premier League.”
