ARSENAL are understood to have a strong interest in Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
The Italian is yet to make an appearance this season for the Serie A champions after spending the previous two seasons on loan at Empoli.
The young centre-back is behind Leonardo Bonucci, Giorgio Chiellini and Andrea Barzagli in the pecking order in Turin.
With his chances of playing limited, Rugani has told his representatives to look for other clubs.
And one of them is Arsenal, according to Italian media outlet Calciomercato.
The report says the Gunners are ready to make an "important offer to beat the competition" and sign the 21-year-old.
Manager Arsene Wenger made the surprise decision not to sign an outfield player in the summer transfer window - only bringing in Petr Cech from Chelsea.
