Manchester United and Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Gonzalo Higuain, after the Argentine rejected a new contract.
The Premier League rivals have been linked with the 27-year-old but his agent, brother Nicolas revealed the striker turned down Napoli's latest offer.
"We had a meeting with the president [Aurelio De Laurentiis] in Venice 10 days ago," he told Italian radio station Radio Crc.
"We talked about everything. He offered a one-year contract extension, but in my opinion - and ours - we will continue with the original contract, expiring in 2018.
"The contract isn't that different to the one we signed before, so for us it's not a real offer. We are calm and happy to continue with the current conditions.

Moussa Sissoko is still holding on to his hope of playing Champions League football but is prepared to stay at Newcastle this season.
Bookmakers have slashed on the French midfielder joining Manchester City or Liverpool but Sissoko is unwilling to leave St James' Park ahead of the European Championships.
He told French publication Le Parisien: "With a year to go 'til the EURO, you mustn't change clubs and then find yourself on the bench.
"At the same time, I want to play for one of the biggest clubs.
"I would notably like to play in the Champions League, which I can't do at Newcastle. One day or another, my time will come."

Chelsea have turned their attention to Tottenham's Danny Rose as they look to replace Filipe Luis.
The Daily Mirror claim Jose Mourinho has added the England left back to his transfer wish list and are prepared to pay around £15m.
The Blues have reached a stalemate with Augsburg over Baba Rahman.
