Until Dawn is an PS4 exclusive launching in 2015 |
BOTH Xbox One and PS4 fans have a lot to look forward to in 2015, with a range of exciting exclusive titles already confirmed for release.
And here at the Express, we've taken a look at the most promising titles launching on the next-gen consoles this year.
QUANTUM BREAK: Quantum Break is a new action adventure title in development by Remedy Entertainment. From the makers of Max Payne, this new title will feature bullet time gameplay and incredible visuals. Players have been promised a mix of live-action videos blended with regular third person action. A television series is also in production, with how you play the game impacting the show, and the show informing you how you play the game, according to Remedy. This is one to watch, with its originality making it a stand out choice for this year. HALO 5: GUARDIANS Fans will have to wait until the closing months of 2015 to get their hands on this title, but having played the online Beta is could well be worth the wait. There have been some big changes made to running, scope shots and general abilities and it would be unfair to draw to much from this early access version of the game. It looks to be shaping up as a great Xbox One exclusive and will certainly be one of it biggest for 2015. PLAYSTATION 4 Can the PS4 continue its strong showing into 2015? Do they have enough quality titles in their line-up to keep the top spot? UNCHARTED 4: A Thief's End Heading for the Playstation 4 for the first time, Uncharted 4 has created some real buzz since its first revealed in 2014. Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves, embarking on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. Hero Nathan Drake in what is being billed as his greatest adventure yet, is looking much more haggard. But according to Naughty Dog his latest adventure 'will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.' The latest footage has impressed, and we certainly hope the PS4's extra power can take this adventure staple to new places. THE ORDER: 1886: Rewrite the past using advanced weaponry to battle a powerful and ancient foe in Victorian London. Sounds good to me. The Order 1886 is set to fuse real historical figures and events with new twists on familiar myths and legends to create an alternative history, a history where you get to use electric superguns. Ready At Dawn will launch this new cover-based shooter in February, with Sony hoping for a strong start to the year. UNTIL DAWN: Supermassive Games have created a new interactive thriller title that will test whether Hollywood horror can work for video games. Until Dawn will be a story-driven affair, containing plenty of action-horror with fans facing their every choice bringing wide-ranging consequences It means no two experiences should be the same and will feature eight friends trapped in a remote retreat. Don't expect to have as many chums running around with you by the end of this adventure though.
The Playstation 4 ruled much of 2014 and it was only until the latter stage of the year that the Xbox One seriously started to challenge.
Its resurgences came on the front of several exclusive titles, including Forza Horizon 2, Sunset Overdrive and Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
XBOX ONE
Microsoft will be hoping that its next crop of exclusive titles can do the same in 2015.
CRACKDOWN:
The third title in the series, Crackdown, was announced at Microsoft's E3 2014 in June 2014, as an Xbox One exclusive.
Not much more has been revealed since the intial trailer outlined some of the key features of the open world action caper, but we're interested to see if Microsoft are able to raise the bar with the next instalment and take full advantage of the Xbox One's added oomf.
