Stoke boss Mark Hughes confirms interest in Everton and Newcastle target
Xherdan Shaqiri has 46 interantional caps for Switzerland
MARK HUGHES is hopeful Stoke can conclude a deal for Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Switzerland international was spotted at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday in their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.
Stoke have shown interest in the 23-year-old this summer but face a battle to sign him with Everton and Newcastle both keeping tabs.

Shaqiri only joined Inter from Bayern Munich last winter but has found himself surplus to requirements under Roberto Mancini with a Premier League team a potential suitor.
Hughes told Sky Sports: "We’ve been close in the past and haven’t been able to conclude deals. We’ll have to wait and see.

“We are not allowed that conversation. We’ll just have to wait and see. Sometimes you can get these things done very quickly and other times it takes a little bit longer."
Stoke have already completed the signing of another European talent from Barcelona this summer with Ibrahim Afellay on a free transfer.
