IT WAS an emotional evening for the cast of Downton Abbey last night, as they attended the last-ever wrap party for the ITV series.

Michelle Dockery, famed for portraying Lady Mary Crawley in the hugely successful historical drama, turned heads in a simple but stylish white dress as she attended the bash.
The brunette beauty arrived at The Ivy in London with co-star Lily James, who played Lady Rose MacClare.

Michelle teamed the stunning white get-up with a pair of gold strappy heels, wearing her brunette locks loose and curly.
Lily on the other hand, chose a black top that she wore with a high-waisted skirt, showing off her slim waistline.

Journalists were treated to an exclusive screening of the final Downton Abbey episode on Friday.
Julian Fellowes, the mastermind writer and creator behind Downton Abbey, expressed his sadness at bidding goodbye to his beloved characters.

He explained: "The characters have been so real to me for six years.
"So I do think you have a little sadness. You do feel rather sorry to say goodbye to these people because I've enjoyed the creation.
"I'm sorry to see them go. I'm very unlikely to be involved in anything that is as successful again and so, of course, I say goodbye to these golden years with a slight pang.
"But it seems the right time to go while we're still firing," Julian added.
