Manchester Utd stunned as Man City seal sensational £35m swap deal for Nicolas Otamendi

NICOLAS OTAMENDI has snubbed Manchester United and is on the verge of joining Man City in a £35m deal which will see Eliaquim Mangala go on loan to Valencia

 

Spanish publication Superdeporte claim the Argentine, who skipped training in a bid to force a move, is on his way to the Etihad.

Mangala joined City last summer for around £31.8m but struggled to live up to the hefty price tag as City lost their title to Chelsea.

 

The French defender has started City's first two matches of the season which has seen them earn two clean sheets in their victories over West Brom and Chelsea.

But according to reports in Spain, Mangala will join the La Liga side on a season-long loan.

 

United were linked with Otamendi, as Louis Van Gaal accessed his options in central defence. 

But like Sergio Ramos, who is set to sign a new contract at Real Madrid, Otamendi appears to have rejected the interest from Old Trafford.
