Manchester United have had an offer for Jan Oblak rejected |
ATLETICO MADRID have rejected a £25million bid from Manchester United for Jan Oblak.
Spanish publication Marca report United had lined up the goalkeeper as their first-choice replacement for David De Gea.
But Atletico have knocked back the £25m offer, stressing the desire to keep hold of their top squad players this summer.
The Slovenia international is expected to be the La Liga club's No1 this season after making 22 appearances last term.
And it's not believed to be the Red Devil's first approach for the 22-year-old, with AS Diario claiming a bid of just over £20m was lodged last month.
Man United are desperate for a new goalkeeper after De Gea has seemingly been dropped from the squad along with Victor Valdes.
That means new signing Sergio Romero has been thrown straight into mix, leaving Van Gaal with unproven Sam Johnstone on the bench.
